Painting - but not the type I like!

I awaited the 8th of July with some trepidation, this was the day that my new shed was being delivered.  The crew arrived at 10.30am and it took until 1.30pm to offload it all.  I have never seen so much wood outside of a forest.

Come Thursday, the shed had been erected, now the painting could commence.  Since that Thursday, until 25 July, not a day has passed by without us painting either the inside or the outside of this oversized structure.  Can you tell I'm falling out of love with it already, but I have to keep reminding myself that it will all be worth it.  A studio space has been long awaited.

The reason we didn't do any painting on 25 July, was that we went to The RHS Flower Show at Tatton Park, Knutsford.  We haven't been to this show for some time as the entrance price has just kept increasing, but I was really lucky as I won 2 tickets.

We had a lovely day and we'd made a list of goodies to get, but why is it that you always get a lot of things but not the ones on your list.

A couple of shots of 2 lovely gardens on show.

All the gardens we saw were lovely and the plants for sale were many and varied.  We did buy a lovely rose called 'Hot Chocolate' and 2 Hydrangeas.

That's it for now, the paint brush awaits!!

I have a new toy

This morning, just before rushing off to the hairdressers, a huge box was delivered that housed my second-hand overhead projector that Peter had bought from E-Bay for £35.

How frustrating that I could not 'open the box' before leaving home, still it gave me something to think about whilst at the hairdressers, how big was the equipment and where to put it kind of thoughts.

Photos of my 'projections' to follow.  I'm hoping for something wonderful.

Bye for now

Uploading this seemed just too easy!

This was the first quilt I produced for the 15x15 quilt group I joined at the end of last year.  This one was completed at the end of Jan 2013.  I will post photos of the next two quilts if the process of uploading this photo actually works out.

What an accomplishment, albeit small

So pleased with my efforts today.  I have managed to insert a photo into my blog.  This has taken ages, but there we are.  This is my kantha cushion, made from layers of scrim, with added motif for light relief.  Still need to get better familiarised with photo positioning.

Let's see what the next few days bring.
Bye for now

Onwards and Upwards

Hi,

Way back in November I started a blog, well two blogs actually, to see whether I preferred to use Blogger or Wordpress.  It's taken me until now to decide who to go with - my decision being based on my friend, Joan Brailsford, opting to use Blogger.  So, she being more computer savvy than I, I also have chosen Blogger and if I get into difficulty, perhaps she may be able to help. Fingers crossed.  I will attempt to delete the other blog!

Joan and I make and exhibit mixed media art, which sometimes includes quilts, and we go under the name of '2 Inspire' .  This year we have an exhibition scheduled at Castleparks Arts Centre, in Frodsham on 7 August 2013 - 15 September 2013 and this exhibition is entitled 'ColourWorks' where we explore the merits of using two colours and shades therein, plus one accent colour.  So far, this has not been as easy as I thought it would be, but it was my idea and I have to conform.

I will post pictures as and when, so I hope you'll visit again soon.
